I painted these stairs a few years ago in a beautiful old farm house I used to live in. It was nice to do something fun in an entry that was rarely used.

From there I changed my palette and moved to the sea and again took my brushes to the stairs. A friend told me that as he contemplated re-painting his own stairwell, he googled "painted stairs" and photos of mine kept showing up--so I tried it myself--and sure enough! But along with mine came some other fabulous stair designs that I thought were brilliant...

And again, painted spindles--they are so effective. I think it's time to get out my paint brushes again...
